Love Your Help Desk with Zendesk on December 8

December 8th is the day we’re encouraging help desk workers to take the day off. Yes, that’s right, 24 hours without a single help desk customer support rep to call, IM, or email.

Now that automated online services are increasingly handling the sales process, it’s time to let the world know that the customer relationship is in the hands of the support and service staff — often times the only employees in a company that interact directly with customers.

What’s that you say? This sounds like crazy talk? Well, have you ever stopped to think about what the world would be like if every customer service agent put down the headset and walked out on the job?

Their negative experiences ricochet across the Web and make their way into water cooler conversations at alarming rates. Business crumbles because people can’t get what they need or fix what they have, and it’s nearly impossible retaining customers. Basically, things suck. And all because help desk workers walk off the job.

So what do you think? Are we overdramatizing?

There’s only way to find out. On December 8 when there’s no one to call. Love Your Help Desk or … ?
