The Connect Instagram by Vaimo lets you connect your Instagram account to your Zendesk Support, so you’ll receive and be able to reply to comments on your Instagram posts from Support.

Posts and comments from your connected Instagram account will be integrated directly into your normal workflow, so you can reach and reply to your audience on Instagram without leaving Zendesk Support - you can even see your Instagram post’s image.

Reply to comments on Instagram from Zendesk

Comments will appear as a ticket or tickets and you can reply directly from Zendesk Support. Your agents are able to choose from the following options.

Generate a ticket for each comment

Would you like to respond to each comment on your post?

You’ll be able to choose to create a ticket per each comment on your Instagram posts. With this option, the replies from Zendesk Support will then be shown as inlined replies on Instagram.

Get all comments under one ticket

This option gives you an ability to manage all comments under a single ticket. Meaning, each time you create a post on Instagram, a ticket is going to be automatically created and then the ticket will automatically be updated when there is a new comment on the post on Instagram.

Data & Privacy Disclosure

Connect Instagram by Vaimo accesses your Instagram account data (posts and public comments) and your Zendesk ticket data solely to deliver the core functionality of this integration. Specifically:

  • Data collected: Instagram post metadata (image URLs, permalinks, media type) and public comments are retrieved via the Instagram Graph API and stored as Zendesk ticket fields.
  • Data usage: Data is used exclusively to create and update Zendesk Support tickets. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.
  • Data storage: Data is processed and stored within your Zendesk account. No customer data is retained on Vaimo servers beyond what is necessary to relay it to Zendesk.
  • Data security: All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Access to your Instagram account is governed by OAuth 2.0 and can be revoked at any time from your Instagram account settings or the Zendesk app configuration page.
  • Data retention: Data follows the retention policies of your Zendesk account. You can delete ticket data at any time through Zendesk.

Requirements

The Connect Instagram by Vaimo requires your Instagram account to be an Instagram for Business account, connected to your Facebook company page.

How to install

  1. Install the Connect Instagram by Vaimo from Marketplace.

  2. Go to Channel integrations in your Zendesk settings.

  3. Add account.

  4. Sign in to your Instagram with Facebook login.

  5. Choose the account you want to connect.

  6. That's it! Enjoy your new app.
