“President Franklin Roosevelt was even pressured to move Thanksgiving back a week so retailers could enjoy a longer holiday shopping season, according to records in his presidential library.”
This year, nearly 50 percent of American households plan on braving the crowds to get at what’s seen as the best possible deals of the year, according to America’s Research Group.
